Evaluation: Target Audience Research Summary

The audience seemed to enjoy the last scene the most because they felt it brought the film together and shed some light on Mika and Johnathon's character. I feel the shock factor of scene 3 also led people to enjoy it, due the sinister and abrupt flashback, which also left them wanting more.

Generally, the audience liked the music used in the film however there were comments referring to the poor transitioning which we would review and consider changing if we were to do it again, as the abrupt change in music could distract the audience from what is actually going on in the film. As the comments were about the change in music rather than the music itself being unfit, we can comfortably keep the sound track and only adjust the transitions.

I don't think the audience liked being kept in suspense especially since it was only the first 2 minutes of the film. A lot of people spoke about not knowing why things were happening and a lack  of development in characters however, we wouldn't want to change that too much because an element of intrigue and ambiguity is essential in a psychological thriller. Further, the first 2 minutes
of any film is an introduction to the film most likely, wouldn't give away the whole plot of the story, or the audience will lose interest in the film. On the other hand, the comments from the audience wanting to learn more about the character shows the storyline is strong and is compelling and engaging, leaving the audience wanting more.

We took into account the comments made about acting, if we were to make this film better we would consider actors more, probably look for AS or more experienced drama students to aid in making our film appear more realistic. We would also take into account the music, we struggled with the transition initially and from our feedback we still need to work on it to make it less noticeable. The acting is important as it made some viewers laugh, instead  of being shocked which removes the seriousness of the scene and the whole narrative.

If we were to start the process again we would have considered our organisation skills alongside preparation as we had to make various changes we didn't prepare for or expect. For example finding a Cafe and attempting the scar before filming as it also led us to change the narrative slightly as the narrative became less obvious. I think would also have look at our storyline more closely and plan out better how each scene led appear because as we went along we noticed holes in the story, which we had to revise but in the end we came up with a better storyline.
