Construction: Blooper Reel
The two most common mistakes we made were laughing and then not knowing what part was meant to be acted out at specific times alongside the time and the way in which things should have been acted out. These mistakes happened often especially laughing, we often discussed before shooting to avoid confusion after we realised it was a reoccurring theme, however it was quite frustrating when there was confusion with what should be acted out and how when we discussed it.

Costruction: Reflection
Music
Finding music was very long process and we struggle a lot with, we decided to make it an on going process of compiling various songs we thought would fit the dark Mise-en-scene of our film. We put the music aside to in last and today we had to tackle it. Together we looked at how well each song could work for various parts of the film, we also looked at various parts of the music to see if we could cut and use various sections of it.We were eventually able to cut and organise the music to increase tension at the write places for example there was less tension in the music when Chloe was looking in the mirror however when Conor appears on screen the music has more bass, which helps the audience understand his character without being told. In order to make the transitions from one song to another smooth we used some audio transitions such as Exponential Fade which allowed a smooth transition between layered clips of the same music as well as other music clips
Adding the music to the video made everything tie together and I felt it made our film better. Our choice of music was highly successful and adding it made our work a very good finished product which was a relief after the number of steps we took back before finally moving forward.

Editing Audio
While editing the re-filmed clips, we noticed that the audio from the previous flashback was stronger than the newer one, so we unlinked the video and audio clips to edit them to match each other. This was difficult as the clips were different lengths so we had to match the point where Chloe we fell with the sound of her falling. We used the same technique where Chloe stands up and it transitions into a POV shot, we had to match the action of her standing up with the movement of Conor's mouth. There was also some issues with the music and our voice, at times the music was high than our voices so we had to increase the volume of our voice and reduce the music. However, if we decrease the volume of the whole music clip we would loose the effect that we had in the fist scene, so we had to cut the music clip; use is as another audio before reducing it's volume and increasing our audio. Although this worked there was a very noticeable change so we added an audio transition to fade the end of the previous music clip so it doesn't make volume change as noticeable, yet it still was. Lastly, we tried overlapping the clip, which was successful and the clips ran smoothly consequently, we did the same for the end of the clip.
I feel the audio editing also helped in bringing the film together.
Video Construction - Non Diegetic Music
Video Construction –Non diegetic Music
The Cinematic Orchestra ‘Dawn’
We chose this music for the first scene because, it is good
to draw out emotion. We want our production to be very emotional and we want
the viewers to know that. With the sound of this music playing it prepares you
for a tough and emotional journey, it brings a tear to the eye and starts
stirring the viewer up. It also fits in well with the psychological element,
this is because, of the instruments which are being made use of. We also wanted
something without vocals which would have a good affect. The reason why we did
not want a song with vocals in is because, it would throw the viewer off of
what we are trying to create.
The Cinematic Orchestra ‘Every Day’
The reason why we chose this music for the second scene is
because, we wanted to create a sense of something going on and that the action
is going to start picking up. We wanted the viewers to have an ambient feeling
of what is going on. The music itself adds to the psychological element which
we are trying to create especially at the beginning of the music. We also chose
this music because, once again we did not want vocals especially as there was
non-diegetic sound happening with the speaking we did not want any
side-tracking from what the scene is being based around.
The Black Crow Smiles ‘Kuroshitsuji’
We chose this music because, it is a chant (Gregorian). The
chant has a dark and ominous feeling, as this scene shows the attack we needed
something which is dark and certainly darker than the other music of which we
were using. The music also goes with the pace and the feeling of the scene
(slow paced and emotional/frightening. Once again we also chose the music because,
we did not want vocals. This is because, it would have taken away from the
speaking and the torture which Mika was going thorough.

Refilming
During the week we re-filmed the second scene using more angles and props this time to add to the Mise-en-scene, of the film - it being a psychological thriller. We made sure we added close-ups to help increase the tension as conversation and interaction was going, by drawing attention to details such as the passing of the photographs. There was also an issues with looking at the camera while filming so we had to make sure we checked that as we were going along and the shots from various angles reduced that also.We also re-filmed the flashback scene because of the badge, with this we had to re-film the majority of it as the badge was seen through the majority of the scene. There was some difficulty with getting the flashback clips to be as the successful as the ones before so we decided that we would remove unlink the video and audio and put the audio from the previous clip with the video from the new clip as the audio was much better.
On the whole re-filming at this stage, when we thought we were almost done was the lowest part of our film making process as we are also quickly approaching our deadline.

Editing and reviewing
After filming the flashback we were able to finally fill in all the gaps we had in our filming; we cut the clips down and added all the appropriate video transitions such as dip to white when a character is going out and fade to black when eyes close. We watched the whole film through to see what we could change and improve it by critically de-constructing it and we found some issues:
We first noticed, that when we showed people our video the first time without explaining what it was about they had a few questions(Especially at the second scene) before being able to understand the video, once it was explained it was understood. Although people understood the storyline after it was explained, for it to be successful it should be obvious what the storyline is therefore we had to reconsider it. When we watched our video to the end we realised that in the flashback the main antagonist appeared paedophilic and we could use that change the plot slightly; we could make the conversation at the park about finding girls to be his next victim, which would help tie everything together. We drew up a storyboard quickly out lining our new plan:
We also noticed our lack of close ups and angles from which we filmed from and this made our filming appear repetitive and disallowed us from showing our full potential and increasing tension with a variety of shots from various angles.
When filming the flashback scene Conor still had his school badge on which disrupted the Mise-en-scene therefore, we had to organise time to re-film it alongside another to film at the park.
