Costruction: Reflection

Music

Finding music was very long process and we struggle a lot with, we decided to make it an on going process of compiling various songs we thought would fit the dark Mise-en-scene of our film. We put the music aside to in last and today we had to tackle it. Together we looked at how well each song could work for various parts of the film, we also looked at various parts of the music to see if we could cut and use various sections of it.

We were eventually able to cut and organise the music to increase tension at the write places for example there was less tension in the music when Chloe was looking in the mirror however when Conor appears on screen the music has more bass, which helps the audience understand his character without being told. In order to make the transitions from one song to another smooth we used some audio transitions such as Exponential Fade which allowed a smooth transition between layered clips of the same music as well as other music clips

Adding the music to the video made everything tie together and I felt it made our film better. Our choice of music was highly successful and adding it made our work a very good finished product which was a relief after the number of steps we took back before finally moving forward.
